Registration is not complicated, but a handful of small mistakes — a mismatched name, an expired ID, a date chosen too late — are expensive and hard to undo. Here is the whole process, in order, with what it costs.

The whole process happens on College Board's website and takes most students about half an hour, assuming they have a photo ready and know which date they want. Nothing is charged until the final step.
Go to College Board's SAT registration page and create an account if you do not already have one. Use a personal email address you will still have access to in two years, not a school address that gets deactivated when you graduate — your scores live in this account.
This is where most avoidable problems begin. Your full legal name in your account must match the ID you plan to bring on test day, character for character. Test center staff compare your admission ticket, your ID and their roster, and if the three do not match they can turn you away. No nicknames, no shortened first names, no dropped middle names if your ID shows one.
Pick from the 2026–27 calendar. Register as early as you can: it costs nothing extra, and it is the difference between choosing a test center and being assigned whatever is left.
You will see the centers with seats available for your chosen date. If nothing suitable appears, do not force it — a different date with a good center usually beats a bad center on your preferred date. The test centers guide covers how to choose and what to do when seats run out.
You provide a photo during registration, and it appears on your admission ticket. Test center staff use it to confirm you are the person in your ID photo, so it needs to be a clear, recent, recognisable head-and-shoulders picture of you. A cropped group photo or an old picture invites problems at the door.
For students testing in Lebanon the standard total is $111 — the $68 registration fee plus the $43 international fee. Payment is by card. The full fee table below covers late registration, changes and cancellations.
The SAT is taken in College Board's Bluebook application on your own laptop or tablet. Install it well before test day and complete exam setup, which opens five days before the test. This is also how you get your admission ticket — print it, or email it to yourself. A printed ticket is preferred.
The headline number is $111. Everything else on this table is optional, avoidable, or both — and the avoidable ones are almost always the result of registering late or changing your mind.

Fees change, and they are set by College Board, not by us. Confirm the current amounts on the official international fees page before you budget. On fee waivers: College Board grants them to low-income 11th- and 12th-grade students in the United States and its territories, and outside the United States only to eligible US citizens living abroad. A student who is not a US citizen and is testing in Lebanon is generally not eligible, regardless of financial need, and should budget for the full $111. A US citizen living in Lebanon may qualify if they meet College Board's income-based criteria — and on a fee-waiver registration the international fee is not charged. Registration confirms your seat. Three things still need to happen before test day.
You test on your own laptop or tablet, and it must be fully charged with Bluebook installed and exam setup completed. Check your device meets the requirements early, not the night before — discovering a problem five days out is recoverable, discovering it on Saturday morning is not.
It becomes available in Bluebook once exam setup is done, from five days before the test. Print it.
It must be a physical, unexpired photo ID, either government-issued or issued by the school you currently attend, bearing your full legal name exactly as on the ticket. Digital IDs are not accepted, and neither are photocopies. If you are 21 or older on test day, only a government-issued ID such as a passport or driving licence will do.
On the day itself you bring your charged device, your printed ticket, your ID, pens or pencils for scratch work, your College Board login details, and an acceptable calculator if you want your own — Bluebook has one built in. The full list is on the SAT in Lebanon guide.
By far the most common one, and the most serious, because it is discovered at the test center door. If you need to correct a name, contact College Board customer service at least 30 days before your test date — it is not something you can fix on the morning.
An ID that is valid today but expires before Saturday is not acceptable. Check the expiry date now. School IDs from the previous school year remain valid only until the end of December of the current calendar year.
Either registration for that date has not opened yet, or the centers near you are full. Try a different date before widening your radius; see the test centers guide.
There is no reschedule button. You cancel — paying the cancellation fee — and then register again for the new date, paying again. This is the single most expensive mistake in the process, and it is entirely prevented by choosing your date carefully the first time.
You have about four extra days at a $38 premium. After that the administration closes, and there is no standby testing for the Digital SAT.
